 Server administration

Page finder

In order to distribute the work load better several servers can be interconnected to form a cluster. When users log on they are automatically distributed to the individual servers so that each server has roughly the same work load. But all servers work on the same database.

The different servers are administrated in this dialogue box. The users logged onto the individual servers can be seen and short messages can be sent to users.

The system administrator also has an additional System shutdown function there.

Server display

First of all the server that the administrator is logged onto appears as the local server. All other servers appear as remote servers.

If you click on a server’s symbol further information appears.

Note: If the network connection to a server is disrupted, the message No contact appears. If the network connection is permanently cut off the server should disappear from the list after a certain time (approx. 20 minutes). With a controlled shutdown the server disappears from the list immediately.

Users

The number of users logged onto this server is displayed.

The individual users are displayed if you click on If you click on a user name information on this user appears

Note: If you click on the user row you can use Send a short message to all users that appears in additional information to send a message to all users. The message appears in the footer

Current tasks

The current scheduled tasks are displayed here (see too Control center/Admin/Current tasks )

 Database cache

Displays information on the database cache (see also Control center/System/Database cache for the system administrator)

 File system

Allows access to a server’s file system. All directories required for the application are listed (config, web, uploads, etc.). Some directories are automatically replicated between the current servers. Here the administrator has the opportunity to replicate files manually.

If you click on a directory further information appears.
