Approval escalation (scheduled task)

Processes necessary forwarding of approvals, if pending approvals are not processed. The task automatically carries out an escalation to the approver's superior or to his deputy, if the deputy is activated.

Parameters

Parameter

Description

Waiting time in days

Specifies how long an approval item should wait for processing before being automatically forwarded.

In addition, the set user for the approval forwarding receives a message, showing the users for which items could not be forwarded (e.g. because no superior is entered). He does not receive approval items or order information.

Interval for log entries

This figure specifies the intervals (in number of approval items) at which the system is to send a life cycle message for the task. On slow systems, this can be used to prevent a 'Time out' if:

a) There are a lot of approval elements to check and

b) Processing is too slow due to system load

Recommended execution interval

Approx. twice a day to once a week, depending on the urgency and the setting for the escalation interval.
